MY FIRST COLLECTION OF POEMS , “POEMS”

At a certain point in life, when the sun sets, you see things better, the shadows elongate…

For this reason, I decided to publish my first collection of poems, “POEMS” that many of you have already seen here and there on the blog…

I think that soon I will publish another one, completely new…

And, as always, remaining faithful to paying myself, I am publishing them…

I WAS BECOMING MEDIOCRE, LIKE SO MANY

I was becoming mediocre, like so many.

And so I decided not to practice the psychotherapeutic profession anymore. Not for failure or incompetence but because I didn’t have the heart. When after a conference or seminar to present my books, they ask me why I interrupted professional practice, I always respond that I am not able to work without heart and without soul.

I went toward writing.

For a while now, I haven’t had faith in the economy. I’ve stopped consuming. I live off the agriculture products from my farmhouse. I quit watching tv. I quit voting.

At certain point, I wanted something more.

Art.

In reality, I don’t want what the system offers.

For art I don’t mean classical art or artists, because they can also be mediocre, egocentric and servants of the system. I mean art as a place of the soul that fights hypocrisy, conformity, selfishness, social and moral violence, mediocrity and superficiality.

TECHNOLOGY WILL ENSLAVE US

Contemporary society, above all Western society, is based less and less on traditional theological values- religious, humanistic, artistic or spiritual. Our society increasingly trusts the power of science -or better- technology which by now guides the projects, actions and thoughts of human beings today.

No one should delude himself thinking that he can just use technology, because he will be enslaved and used by it.

PSYCHOTHERAPY DOESN’T HELP, THE WORLD IS GETTING WORSE

It’s possible that psychoanalysis and psychotherapy have made us more sensitive but the world has not changed. Actually, it’s getting worse and worse. Or better, it wears the masks of its time but evil, injustice, violence, selfishness, mediocrity and hypocrisy are always the same.

Better yet, probably psychology has contributed to making the world worse.

In my opinion, humanity today needs a deep and intense, radical and original dimension of spiritual awareness, psycho-spiritual, as I call it.

Psychotherapy, on the other hand, is conceived, at least up until today, as help and tolerance to calm, to justify, to mediate to find compromises.

FATHER AND MOTHER OF OURSELVES

The person who has become father and mother to himself does not fear solitude. Above all, he is not afraid of making decisions, going to the bottom of difficult choices, following the journey toward psycho-spiritual awareness.

Instead the person who remains tied to unresolved problems with parental figures feels insecure. That person will not have the courage to make noble choices. Because he fears solitude he will always desperately seek to have someone near him. Above all, he will look outside of himself for what he cannot find inside: love, confirmation of worth, capacity to listen, capacity to take care of himself. Too often in fact, people like this become addicted to food, drugs, alcohol or gambling. Only those who have positively overcome childhood on a psychological level are able to take care of themselves, and of the child that remains in them.

SOCIETY OF FEAR

With time I have understood that society, at least the western one, is based on fear. People that live in it are unhappy, unsatisfied, and they continue to be it. In many cases they lead a depressing life. They are always on the defensive. They don’t ever let themselves go completely and deeply, not the least of all in their intimate relationships, where they are only able to reach physical, sexual unions believing themselves to be the maximum of openness and of love, while deep down they are strangers to one another.

From others they expect only problems, trouble, annoyances.

And yet they stay tied to one another.

The society in which we live is ever sicker, ever more degraded and corrupt.

But we continue to perpetuate it.

The problem is that we don’t think there is another way to live.
