The desert as the symbol of one’s spiritual being is the birthplace of deep awareness – awareness of the end of slavery to repression and the acquisition of the freedom of choice. The repression of power and money are nothing in the face of spiritual strength, since it’s of God and contains an infinite creative potential. The spiritual dimension thrives in serene and listening silence. It’s invisible, but ever present in the silent space between one thought and another.
It’s a force still largely unknown to us – suffocated beneath our shortsighted and egotistical views of the universe. The power of spiritual listening is in its openness to new worlds, which are beyond the “I” and independent of it.
