I am more and more convinced that our vocations choose us. We are free to accept it or not. Certainly, concrete events reveal your vocation to you, but thoughts, moods and reflections connected across various episodes and experiences will make your vocation appear clear, as if a mysterious plan has conducted you to it. You can deny it, enslave it, not listen, exchange it for something else, but it will continue to present itself. Our vocations live in the deepest part of us. Our job then is not to create ourselves or invent a vocation, but allow our vocation to reveal itself, even slowly.
