TERNA IS PLANNING TO RUN A GIANT TRANSMISSION LINE THROUGH OUR TUSCAN HILLS!!!

TERNA, the Italian electrical transmission company, wants to run a giant 380 kv transmission line through the Tuscan hills, destroying forever what has been intact for centuries.

I’m attaching here the message I received from the High Tension Committee, which I just joined.

Dear members,

We have just launched an online petition and would like your help to get as many signatures as possible. We want to send this petition to the Minister of Environment and to the Region of Tuscany, together with documentation that we are preparing as a response to the new changes to the “Transmission” project recently presented by Terna.

The deadline for presenting our observations together with the petition is May 28, 2011. We are aiming to get 5,000 signatures, but 10,000 would be even better!!!

HELP US! – There are over 130 of us. If each of us could get 100 signatures we can make it!

HARD COPY PETITION INSTRUCTIONS

You can also gather signatures on paper. You just attach the petition document (in Italian and English) an Excel spreadsheet to record signatures to be able to print on demand and a photo of the areas where the wires and lines will pass.

Anyone can sign the petition, they just have to fill out the form including a personal identification number from a driver’s license, id card or passport.

We are sure that wherever you are in the world, there are many people that in some moment of their lives have enjoyed a visit to this uncontaminated and enchanting region. They probably want to return again and will therefore understand the devastation that this project will have, if we don’t stop it.
