I frequently encounter people who deceive themselves. When I listen to them I have the impression that they are unaware of the mechanism they put into practice. I’ve tried to reflect on this and my conclusion is that self deception is useful to unaware people in order to survive better and face reality. Like falling in love, which I consider a self deception that passes into love. Although, if one does not leave the falling in love stage, that itself can become an instrument of death. I, and everyone who is on this same journey of awareness, we prefer not to deceive ourselves. We want to free ourselves from our interior ghosts, recognizing in ourselves mistakes, which we consider life lessons, rather than pretending they didn’t happen.
