Once you plumb the depths of your heart, you’ll discover there tenderness, goodness, sweetness…and maybe emptiness, too. If you find there bitterness, envy, and jealousy, try to free your heart of those things. Clean it out with a little calmness and patience. It’s always a painful but fascinating journey into the shadowlands of your own personality. But if one day you do find your heart empty, don’t let it scare you. I know from my own experience that human beings are afraid when they find their hearts empty. But, if you’ll take my advice, you won’t rush to fill your heart.
