For the view of the powerful, insensitive to the appeal of the ineffable and of mystery, every type of being is reduced to pure matter, to be used and exploited. This leads to a type of relationship with the world that is selfish and utiliarian, in which the real is seen not in itself or in relationship with who created it, but in relationship with ourselves and the needs it can satisfy. It’s a disrespectful relationship, a greedy and manipulative one, like the one a child in the narcissistic phase has with his various love objects, represented by the mother, brother or any other thing that does not have autonmous value but is perceived in function of the child’s ego.
