Prayer today is so undervalued by the dominating consumerism that maybe we need to start again biblical prayer followed immediately by fasting and charity, that is, love. Prayer without love would be pure formality, just as fasting without charity would be pure masochism. Intense charity as practice of concrete and daily love.

Ciao Valerio, grazie per i tuoi “squarci” periodici che mi permettono di staccare, magari anche solo momentaneamente, dal tram tram quotidiano e di rivalutare un po’ le mie priorità.
A proposito del post di oggi, mi piacerebbe che tu approfondissi (non so come…) il discorso del valore di gesti come il digiuno o l’elemosina. Infatti ho sempre avuto difficoltà a capirne il senso. Un abbraccio.
