In autumn, darkness predominates over light, and the nights are longer than the days. Nevertheless, it’s an important and fascinating time of year: a time to take away, rather than a time to add to – a time to cut off dry branches and only hold on to what’s essential. While the light outside diminishes, the interior light grows brighter, in order to bring about, in the silent dark, a new conception. I have always paid more attention to conception rather than to birth – maybe because I consider it the moment when the soul begins to deeply penetrate the body.
