The problem is that most of us order our lives around the reduction of risk and responsibility. We want to live in peace. We give up on the infinity of potential which God provided us with, in order not to feel pain and fear.

One of the tricks of knowing how to live consists in remaining before our problems and taking all the time necessary to give meaning to them. Often when faced with interpersonal problems we feel as if we can’t get through them, that we aren’t able to understand, that we won’t reach any positive result. But the truth is that we don’t dedicate enough time to analyzing and comprehending those problems. To make sense of them.

The person who does not live the suffering caused by problems cannot grow. Suffering that we live when we feel crushed by problems, when we feel impotent, small and weak, makes us want all of our problems to leave us and be resolved immediately. But it’s not like that.

Many believe that life is difficult only for them. They forget that life is difficult for everyone. No one excluded. Others believe that life is free of problems, or they try to eliminate their problems completely. This is not possible. Life is a continuous succession of problems. Problems produce courage, awareness and sense. Unfortunately, if they are not faced, problems produce solitude, anguish and desperation.

In my vision, God often remains in silence. Who can claim to have heard the voice of God? Who can be so sure they are not confusing it with their own ghosts, their own delirium, their own neuroses? For me though, God does speak. Through other human beings. The weakest ones above all. They are the ones that compel us to get out of ourselves. They are the ones that make us smile with a clean heart, without deception.
