Reality is lived and measured in relationship to our needs. It is a disrespectful, greedy and manipulative relationship, similar to the one a child in its narcissistic phase has with its various love objects. These love objects, be they represented by the mother, father, brother, toy or whatever other thing, don’t have value...

When we give up assuming our own responsibilities or the power to take upon ourselves our own suffering, we feel powerless. In reality then, problems are signs and tests through which we exercise our unique and true power – the power to face them. Only in living the problems we encounter do we form ourselves and assume the dignity of being persons. Not victims.

Our reactions, responses, behaviors and thoughts in front of the problems procured by others and by life, show us who we are- what our true personality is. In the end, our freedom lies in deciding the type of reaction we have.

We are here on a journey. And so In my vision, problems assume a specific, vital, guiding and orienting significance; a formative, essential and personal meaning. The people we meet and the difficulties that come out of it become an integral part of the meaning that we give to ourselves and to our existence.

Going beyond a life based on ethics, we should live to give witness to who we are. Cost what it may. It is better to give meaning to the personalities and the natures we were born with. It is better to explore them and accept their weakest, most fragile and negative parts in order to improve and give meaning to them.
