A relationship of manipulation brings a person to live others and the surrounding world in an instrumental way. And so doing, empties them of value and identity and brings them to solitude and incommunicability. It’s no coincidence that Bible tradition is clearly against treating reality in a manipulative and disrespectful way as an object, but rather as gift, and therefore real and belonging to the divine.
