Underneath every conflict there is the denial of some spiritual reality. We can never be full human beings if we don’t have a deep relationship with God, Who lives in our hearts. The world in which we live impedes the growth of spiritual awareness because the world is unsettled and anxiety-producing. The laws that govern our society were made to defend the interests of the strong, not those of the weak. But the spirit that infuses and animates us is holy and enduring. The Lord didn’t come for the powerful but for the just.
